Copium 200mg

Week 16 2022 Review

Issue #84 arrived on the scene on Sunday 24th April, bringing a dose of much-needed Copium.

What’s Copium exactly? Red felt that it was time to make a cover focused on wellbeing, thus the idea of Copium 200mg was born. The drug does exactly what it says - it helps you to cope!

Dudly came up with the idea of a medical advertisement and we didn’t look back. Once we'd tweaked the source inhaler image to make it animation friendly, this cover became all about having fun with the branding and copy. You’ll notice that Copium is available in three colours (including classic Pain Red and Greedy Green) and comes with two extra fills for the paper handed.

You’ll also find a list of symptoms that demand Copium along with an ingredient list containing everything from “diluted hate” to “ignorance.” The particularly unfortunate can rest assured that they’ll get 30% off for missing the pump. Copium comes fully endorsed by crypto favourite (and #71 cover star) Jose.

The smoke trail was a little tricky to render but worth the effort and the sterile, medical voiceover brought this cover to life.

Gazette focussed on some dubious practices including Moonbirds’ suspicious pumping and whether ApeCoin staking amounts to bribery. We also covered the disastrous Akutars drop.

This issue’s ArtDrop came from Ukrainian artist and 3D animator Danilkinc.eth. ‘RedLion Run’ shows our hero sprinting through a sci-fi environment, picking up ETH symbols and growing stronger as he dashes headlong into a bright future.
