Rude boys is a highly personal project, and each rude boy is almost always made for Trym Ruud himself rather than to please a crowd.

"When I make art for myself, I am having fun, when I am having fun with a project or an artwork, that is when I produce my best works, and I believe people see that in my works. So rather than creating for others, I create for myself. Wich then again inspires others, at least so I've been told".-Trym

Rude boys are all about telling stories. Each Rude tells a different story, often inspired by something Trym wants to say to the viewers or to tell to himself. Most of the inspiration for Rudeboys comes from everyday life and how Trym feels that day.

The news that headlined week 23 was Sotheby’s love for the NFTs, a proverbial bridge connecting the physical and digital art world. A total of 28 artists and their works were showcased around the world, in Sotheby’s.

Issue #39 was published on Sunday 20th June 2021, week 23 of the year. The world’s premier auction house, Sotheby’s, showed its love for NFTs and the corresponding witty cover was created by Dudly.

The news that headlined week 23 was Sotheby’s love for the NFTs, a proverbial bridge connecting the physical and digital art world. A total of 28 artists and their works were showcased around the world, in Sotheby’s galleries in London, New York and Hong Kong. 

An $11.8 million USD sale of an extremely rare “Alien” CryptoPunk #7532 marked a groundbreaking example of where NFTs are headed. The annual Miami BTC conference took place in Florida, with more than 50,000 attendees. Prominent crypto artist “FVCKRENDER” was a victim of a hack! Be careful at all time frens! Yet another avatar NFT collection “Gutter Cats” dropped that week, drawing criticism as a copycat of Bored Apes. 

After brainstorming several concepts we settled for a “Japanese Tuna Auction” approach, to commemorate our dear subscriber 
Sillytuna’s sale of his Alien Punk. You can probably recognize the first two bidders at the auction by their silhouettes – Super Yeti and Gutter Cat. 

However, the final mic-drop bid of more than a billion Yen left the early bidders far behind and astonished. Many references were used again, some more subtle than others. Can you spot them all? 

The ArtDrop for issue #39 was “68 COLLECTOR (RUDE BOY’S)” by Trym Ruud, who was the first to create 3D boxed toy in NFTs.
