Cover Story

The Redlion Gazette is the first NFT weekly publication. Each week, we document all the NFT news and global historic events, which we then curate into interesting and educative articles and content.

The covers are all depictions of the news of that week filtered through the lens of many styles of art.

What is ArtDrop?

The ArtDrops are exclusive NFT art commissions that are available for free to ONLY the Redlion Gazette tokens owners of that week. The aim is to highlight good artistic work and ultimately to aspire artists to want to be featured on the ArtDrop.

Week 37 2021 Review

Issue #52 came out on Sunday, September 12, 2021, week 37 of the year. The tabloid style cover was created by Dudly. This issue marked 52 consecutive weeks (1 year) of Redlion Gazette, a massive milestone for us! By now you’ve probably noticed that a lot of work (physically and mentally) goes into our craft, so the 1 year anniversary was something really big and rewarding for us. The cover was created in tabloid style referencing the awful old covers 1–9 created by Redlioneye. We kicked off the issue with an explanation of the small bumps we had deploying our smart contract the previous week. During week 36 we saw El Salvador adopting Bitcoin and airdropping BTC to their residents, BAYC had an auction for a 101 Ape Bundle that sold for $24.4M at Sotheby’s, and a BAKC bundle that sold for $1.8M. There was a glorious comeback by Dikasso (formerly known as Parkesy) who used to make puzzles for our Gazette. A new and improved puzzles page was published with quiz-like questions from Redlion lore. As issue #52 was so important to us, we decided to make it available to subscribers only and not make extra issues for the open market as we usually do. The cherry on the top was the amazing ArtDrop “Anniversary Party” by the rising superstar of cryptoart, REY!
