Cover Story

House of Redlion

3 years of Redlion Gazette reporting and entertaining degens and mfers. If you ask what's the secret to sustaining through all these market conditions and fluctuating interests of the audience the answer is two: a great product that can stand the test of time and a brilliant team to ride through thick and thin.

In a space where projects arrive and depart in the blink of an eye, Redlion remains a shining star. We had several other ideas to depict this milestone achievement but in the end to show respect and love to all those who have been part of this journey so far seemed to be the right way to do so-- a family photograph.

Pixel art is a genre through which you can quite comfortably collaborate with other artists. Dudly and I set out to create the artwork in pixel art, with Dudly taking the lion's share of the work as he is super good with the style. I laid my strokes where I could help. Even though pixel art looks easy at first, it actually has its own challenges. To boil down an object or person to a few pixels and yet make them recognizable is a gigantic task, few pixels can actually make or break the image.

The team has had over 20 members in the last 3 years through different phases of development. Starting as a hobby project on Rarible, Redlioneye must have never expected the turnout. Some are with us, some have left and some continue to keep in touch.

We also added our favorite furry friends to the team as they emotionally support us and also remind us that life is not to be taken too seriously. Have a lot of fun, build things you love, relationships you care about and then eventually kick the bucket.

Redlion is long way from kicking that bucket. We have miles to go before the den sleeps. With all of your continued support, we continue to grow and evolve our team, product and vision. Cheers to the brilliant 3 years and many more that are yet to come!
