Beanie's Backbreakers

After a long exile for promoting various rugs and scams, once-upon-a-time influencer Beanie Maxi made a shocking reappearance on an ‘Out Of Pocket’ space run by Alex and Thread Guy. The slightly surreal moment inspired this week’s pixel art cover, which shows the influencers slugging it out in a WWF ring. Beanie arrives suddenly, defeats both and then flees.
This simple idea turned out to be incredibly complex. The first step was to map out the wrestler’s character stances and environmental elements. Dudly then got to work developing those stances from skeletons to fully-fledged 3D characters while Amal created the animations and surrounding elements.

Bringing all of this together and getting the movements in sync was the most challenging part - the characters have 38 different stances in total! The task proved so labour intensive that we even considered the unthinkable: delaying the release until Monday. Fortunately (and after some last minute blood, sweat and tears from Dudly) we managed to deliver another quality cover on time.Gazette looked at the top DAOs busy changing the world for the better, asked whether fractional ownership represents the future of NFTs and covered the continued and meteoric rise of Genuine Undead. We also charted the rise, fall and possible redemption of Azurbala.
